Hurricanes Power Outages and Nutrition Issues

During catastrophic hurricane seasons like the one that is expected during the 2006 Atlantic tropical hurricane season there will be power outages and stores will be closed. With the power out it is harder to cook your food and therefore harder to give nutritional value you need and eat the right foods to keep you healthy and in shape.

It is extremely important that you eat right, take vitamins and help your body with proper water and food to get you through the rebuilding time period when the power and water is out after a major Hurricane. Eating right is extremely difficult when you are rationing your food to make it through a three to four-week period if you decide to stay and wait out the hurricane during mandatory evacuation requirements.

Sometimes power is not even put back in service for six weeks. Your health and your nutrition is your responsibility and in this scenario you cannot expect anyone to help you out and without a disaster preparedness plan if you live in the hurricane zone you could be SOL.

We watched after Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, when people were not ready or prepared and chaos ensued. You need to be careful not to become a victim of a natural disaster and you must maintain your health during these periods of power outages. Consider this and 2006.

7 Steps to Getting What You Really Want!

Step 1 - Vision: The first step is to get clear on the vision for what you want. For example: Several years ago I wanted a new guitar that would allow me to share my music in a more professional way. Even though I was in a little “sticker shock” after looking at the prices of quality guitars I keep going back to my vision of a guitar that would really support me as a performer.

Step 2 - Focus: After the initial visioning the next step involves focusing on what you want until it becomes crystal clear. I looked at and played many guitars before deciding on a Taylor. The only problem was I didn’t have the $1400 to just go out and buy it!

Step 3 - Desire: Creating desire comes from focusing on what you want and imagining all the benefits that will come to you. I built my desire by perusing Taylor’s website, ordering a catalog and deciding on the exact guitar I wanted. Looking at a picture everyday doesn’t hurt either!

Step 4 - Commit: Now comes the bridge between ideas and action. At this stage you commit to do whatever it takes to bring your vision into fruition. It’s not so much about planning but more about creating an intention that you are moving ahead even though you don’t know the “how”. For me, this involved being willing to let go of my two other guitars to make way for my new one.

Step 5 - Plan: The plan begins when you start taking physical action to make things happen. What can you do that will move you closer to your vision? This step entailed fixing up and consigning my other two guitars so I could raise some dough!

Step 6 - Implement: This is where the magic starts to happen! As you start implementing your plan the universe sees that you’re serious and starts giving you help. I took in an old violin to sell at a shop and discovered that they had the exact guitar I wanted (like new) for only $799! I ended up giving them a third down and they let me take the guitar home that day.

Step 7 - Evaluate: The evaluation allows you to step back and see how well the whole process came off. I originally thought I wanted a cut-away body style but realized later that the version I got was much better for my purposes.

Now, take some time to review the process you undertook in manifesting a recent vision into reality. You will probably find that you used the same steps in your process. As you become more expert in using this universal manifestation process you can use it to get whatever it is that you want in your life!

California Real Estate: Buying in a Changing Market

The last few years have been tough on buyers. While interest rates remained low prices shot up dramatically in California and especially in our local South Bay Beach Cities. Inventory was limited and 15 -20 offers on a desirable property was the rule not the exception. If you liked a house so did twenty other buyers in your price range! Buyers learned to be quick and literally gave the seller anything demanded to get the winning bid. Many buyers went so far as to give up inspections and any contingency in order to secure a home.

Now that the market has slowed a bit many buyers see this as an opportunity to reverse the process and make sellers sweat it out. Newspapers have front page articles on foreclosures, slowing sales, bursting bubbles and gleefully point out that the boys at UCLA look to a huge crash in the housing market soon. But they have been predicting a crash for the last five years and so far it just hasn’t happened.
Buyers are trying to figure out how big a discount they are going to get on the list price instead of how much over they will pay. So it is easy to understand why many buyers are shocked that their low offers are not being snapped up by sellers. Worse yet while sales are slowing prices are rising. Welcome to a normal market!

In a normal market, prices don’t drop 20% in a week. In a normal market, prices will continue to rise just at a significantly slower pace. In a normal market a buyer will have a choice among a number of properties instead of one. In a normal market buyers get a chance to breathe before making a purchase. They can take a day or so and compare the features of property A as opposed to those of property B.

The smart buyer will still get pre-qualified by a lender and have the funds necessary for the down payment readily available. If the buyer needs to sell an existing property they will get the property in market ready condition and list it with a contingency that the sale is subject to the purchase of a new home. In some instances a buyer will be able to purchase a new property with the contingency of closing escrow on his current home if it is priced right and in good shape.

Interest rates are still at historic lows. Even if rates rise to 8% that is still much lower then at any time in the last thirty years. As interest rates rise prices will stabilize and may fall a bit as it will be harder for many buyers to qualify at the higher rates. The market will adapt to changes by leveling prices.

What should a savvy buyer do? Smart buyers will buy a home that best fits their needs when they need a home. They will balance price and mortgage rates that fit their budget. Savvy buyers know that real estate is a long term investment and plan to hold their property for at least 5-7 years. There are too many people who want to live in Southern California, especially the beach Cities of Los Angeles, and we haven’t built enough homes to satisfy the needs of our population. The South Bay is built out and each time an older home is torn down and a new one built two things happen. The supply of inexpensive rental housing is diminished and prices on the new construction increase. Housing is a basic need. People need shelter. People will always get married, have children, get divorced, get raises or lose their jobs. People will get transferred or decide to move to a new area. Young people will want new larger homes and older adults may want smaller homes with lots of amenities.
Housing markets will change and the smart buyers will buy the best home they can afford. In Southern California that means they will almost always make money on their purchase. In 1952 when my family came to CA homes were $5,000-$10,000. The 1,500 square foot home my Dad built in 1953 for $5,500 is worth about $725,000 today with all the ups and down of the market. He would have been amazed!

Earn and Learn in your Online Home Business

Earn and learn in your online home business - so the headline screams!

Your interest is aroused… as earning online takes on a whole new meaning and you drift into a reverie and quietly reflect on the freedom your newfound home business will bring you.

Chances are some master marketer or self proclaimed online Guru has you pinned in his sights with this compelling catch cry, or perhaps its one of the big MLMs with its ultimate home business opportunity. And so you join up … to learn and earn. But do you?

The master may teach you much via the many technological
advances available on the internet. But how much is withheld? Do you just pick up fragments of the whole ‘puzzle’?

Does your online mentor work with you one on one and take you every step of the way by the hand, so that your success is indubitably assured and your online marketing efforts bear real fruit?

Is he working to build you a downline and then have you duplicate his marketing methods as you pass on all that you have learned.

The old maxim ‘teach a man to fish and you will feed him for life’ certainly holds true when this teaching method is imparted.

Is your mentor accessible when you need him?

So many online home businesses never get off the ground - not through want of effort or a desire to learn. The real help sougnt was simply not to be found in some ebook, online marketing course or some video broadcast! To earn more money you need to learn in the most supportive and nurturing of marketing environments. Take this away … and be assured…. you don’t EARN …….. you BURN!

Work to pass on all that you have been taught, for assuredly it will be returned to you a hundred-fold.

As you learn, ensure they learn, and that they impart to their students what they learn.

In the complimentary roles of both master and student you will then launch your online business to meteoric heights and earn an income that you can barely comprehend right now.

To follow this theme further and find out more about how and why our ‘earn and learn’ approach works, do feel free to visit our NZPCS site.

My name is Dale Calder. I live in Hamilton, (the City of Trees), New Zealand and I am married with two adult sons.

I am actively involved with NZPCS in mentoring a small group of people on a one on one basis showing them how to profit handsomely online without any out of pocket expense on their part.

Additionally,I am also a certified Worldprofit e-Business Consultant, having recently graduated from the Millionaire Bootcamp.

I would be happy to help you “find your feet” and set you on the path to internet success.

Seeking The Path

Well, I hope that through the conversation of me telling you about my journey that you’ll see something in your journey that can serve as a guidepost. You can never hope for much more than that when you’re in that “seeking” phase. That seeking phase is also a very confusing place, one that leaves you wondering “just what is it” that you’re searching for? Often times, it seems as though every single area of your own life is a total and complete shambles, meaningless, worthless. This is part of the discovery process though - or so I believe from my experience.

It’s in facing these realities that our focus begins to shift towards what is meaningful. Not having really given it a lot of thought and not having been taught, it is a tough climb to find that meaning. For each individual, that meaning is significantly different. There are many clues within you, but putting all the pieces together, like any good jigsaw puzzle, will take quite some time. You can imagine what I mean with that metaphor. I’m not particularly fond of puzzles because I like activities that have a more immediate feedback response.

This journey has not allowed me to escape from the reality of life being that puzzle and I’m the masterpiece. An ordinary puzzle takes a considerable period of time, so imagine the masterpiece that each human-being represents and you begin to see that solving that puzzle will take you some time. Don’t be frustrated by this though. I think we easily frustrate because we feel so much pressure from the world around us. It’s conditioned us to perform and produce immediate results.

The truth of life however, is that anything worthwhile takes time. Look at Mother Nature: time is her ally; she will outlast us all; all that is man-made will be swallowed by her awesome power in time. Why can’t our lives unfold much in that same way? Becoming aware of your journey, your values, coincidences, participate actively in the process of your life; pursue something, anything. All things contribute to your goal, a goal you are not even completely aware of yet. Action leads to opportunity and opportunity leads to growth and learning. People, situations, signals, repetitive themes and occurrences: if you’re awareness increases, you should begin to see patterns that reveal something about what you’re in pursuit of.

The final thing I have learned though is about fear. Fear holds us back and, as in the “Fog of War”, when we are in a fog we usually don’t see what is plainly right in front of us that we are to pursue. It’s no ones fault but our own. I admit that I have been caught in its nasty jaws many times and have spent considerable time pondering my pitiful life. Finally, when I decided to take control back of my life, I faced my fear; the fear of the unknown and even without “knowing for sure” I began to walk the path that I believed to be there for me.

Now, I haven’t told any specifics about the situations and it’s rather a high-level explanation but I hope one that resonates. I think that is also the benefit of reading Po Bronson’s book, “What Should I Do with My Life?” I learned from the combined examples in the book that our journeys are unique, that there are no definitive answers until you look back, and sometimes you won’t reach the goals and in many cases, you’ll discover you’ve been chasing the wrong goals as you find yourself achieving what you really are here to do. The truth is, you know it better than anyone but until you put the puzzle pieces together, it won’t be clear.

Best wishes, Lee

Face Lift Without Surgery

As we age facial muscles weaken, and skin begins to sag. But just as gym workouts can promote the body’s youthful strength and suppleness, facial exercise - based on the same principles of dynamic resistance - can strengthen facial muscles. If sagging muscles in your face chin and neck are aging you beyond your years there is a way to reverse the process and make you look healthier, more vibrant, younger.

Facial exercise can transform your looks without cosmetic surgery. One thing facial exercises won’t do is cause wrinkles, but some people think they do. This is absolutely wrong. Properly done facial exercise most certainly does not cause wrinkles.

In fact, exercising the face helps to make women and men look younger for longer, by toning and tightening the facial muscles, just like toning the muscles of the body firms them up.

But, don’t make the mistake of thinking that all facial exercise programs are the same. Expensive devices will not give you better results. Electrodes are very hard to position properly and can be painful if you have sensitive skin.

Sagging, bagging and deep hanging folds in older looking faces are, caused by lack of facial tone. Exercising the muscles in your face is crucial to maintaining a young appearance. Beauty treatments with creams can’t lift sagging muscles.

Surgical facelifts can be costly, painful and sometimes dangerous. Give your face a structured work out and you’ll reap the benefits for all the years to come. Our program includes deep breathing to enhance your exercises. The deep breathing will not only bring extra oxygen to your facial muscles, but to your whole body. Oxygen is the key to these exercises.

Some surgeons even give facial exercises to their patients after their face-lift. Why not, just skip the surgeon and do the exercise? A good facial exercise program lifts and tones the facial muscles. My program comes with a guarantee, and I have yet to refund any money. Hair removal beauty treatments

Women often tweeze their facial hairs. Tweezing is painful but tweezed hair often takes long to grow back than shaved hair. Men rarely tweeze their facial hairs. Tweezing is a good but painful facial hair removal method. Many people feel than someone new to tweezing might inflict serious damage to their skin and hair follicles. Some women end up tweezing their facial hairs once a day. Tweezing is a safe fast way to remove stray hairs. Determining how much to tweeze is entirely up to you. However, tweezing is better for smaller areas. Tweezing is great for removing odd little stubborn hairs.

Wax is very popular beauty treatments among women. Waxing is a facial hair removal method that needs to be performed every four to fix weeks. Apply a decent amount of wax to the area you intend to remove the hair from. Then push the wax paper onto the wax. The wax is very stick and the hair will become affixed to it. Once the paper is jerked off the hair is pulled from the skin. Some people are prone to allergic reactions from waxing. It is a bad idea to wax on irritated skin or sun burned skin. Waxing supplies can be purchased at beauty stores and prices range from five dollars to twenty dollars.

How To Put An End To Rejection

Rejection is one of the most painful experiences in relationships. Not only rejection from our partner, but also rejection from ourselves. As soon as some feel their partner is finding fault with them, they quickly begin to reject themselves. Their sense of self-worth and lovability is directly linked to how their partner feels about them. When an individual is in an abusive relationship, where rejection and fault finding is on-going, it is not unusual for them to completely lose confidence in themselves and their ability to ever love again.

But let’s look at this more closely. What is really happening when a person is feeling rejected? Is it really due to the behavior of their partner, or is it that they are now down on themselves? When a person feels really secure and good about themselves, it doesn’t matter how anyone else treats them or what they do or say.
Here is a basic law of love. When you thoroughly absorb this and practice it in your relationships, your sense of self worth and equilibrium automatically grows.

How A Person Treats You Says More About Them Then About You

Negative behavior from your partner reflects on them, not you. It is their difficulty they are expressing. Never take it personally. When you take it personally, it simply means that now you are agreeing with their negativity and rejecting yourself.

The Dynamics Of Rejection
If we look more closely we can discover that rejection is a common occurrence. Many of us are involved in it on an on-going basis. From morning to night, we complain, judge, condemn and basically reject most of what life brings to us. We want one thing and get another. We enjoy warm weather and it always rains. We want our partner to behave in one way and they do the opposite. We can even start to feel there’s something wrong with everyone we meet, that we have to fix, change or instruct them. This keeps us feeling separate and alone. What we do not see is that we ourselves have set into motion this experience of rejection.

Guideline: Stopping Rejection

If you are being rejected a lot, take time to notice the ways in which you reject yourself or others. Then stop it. Turn it around. Look for what is good or right about the person or situation in front of you. Look for what is good and right about yourself.

Do Not Look For The Faults Of Others

Loneliness and upset in our relationships comes from projecting our faults onto others, and then rejecting them. It also comes from others doing the same to us. When we do this, we then spend most of our time trying to change and control others or ourselves. This never, ever makes for happy relationships where both parties can be themselves, feel wanted and naturally grow.

When we catch ourselves being rejected or rejecting others, we can stop this process by taking responsibility for what is happening. We can immediately look for our part in how we are perceiving others - and ourselves.

Here are 2 more laws of love:

1) The more we value, like and appreciate ourselves, the less we will be affected by rejection.

2) The more we value, like and appreciate others, the less they will reject us.

The experience of acceptance and oneness is what everyone desires. Give that to others and give it to yourself. In order to do this we must realize that whoever appears before us, is simply another face of ourselves. Judgment or the desire to change them is not necessary. Curiosity is a better response.

As we allow others to be who they are, and view them with understanding the mind that accepts develops in us. This mind is your greatest asset.. The mind that accepts provides a positive outlook that nurtures and upholds all life.

This may take a little time and practice, but it is well worth it. As we practice this kind of open-heartedness it will soon become obvious that the way we treat others is also the way we treat ourselves. The more we accept others, the happier, healthier and more fulfilled our lives and relationships will be.

Celebrity Hair Styles - Think Before You Copy!

Ever turn on the television and become instantly infatuated with the latest celebrity hair style sported by Jennifer Aniston or other highly-emulated celebrities? If so, you are not alone. In fact, most fashion trends actually begin after a celebrity has worn them and the same is true when it comes to celebrity hair styles.

Just think of Ashton Kutcher and how many men now wear his tousled celebrity hair style. How about Kate Winslet and all of her manifestations? The truth is that styling your tresses similar to a celebrity hair style is hot. But should you always turn to celebrities to find your latest style, and how can you mirror the celebrity hair style when celebrities have a staff of professionals catering to their every hair whim?

There are good reasons on both sides of the equation when it comes to choosing a celebrity hair style. For some, a celebrity hair style can be the perfect answer when they find themselves in a style slump. For others, choosing a celebrity hair style can be a big mistake. Here are just a few of the pros and cons when it comes to celebrity hair styles.

Why you should copy

1. Celebrities have access to some of the most talented and highest paid beauty professionals in the industry. While you may not be able to afford a consult with one of these style legends yourself, you have the perfect opportunity to see and emulate their work with a celebrity hair style.

2. For the most part, celebrities are on the cutting edge of fashion. When you choose a celebrity hair style, you do not have to worry about looking dated or being out of style.

3. C’mon let’s face it. We look up to celebrities because they always look fashionable and beautiful. If you are looking for a celebrity hair style to pull your look together, then there is no better place to look than to the stars.

Why not to copy

1. Celebrities are seen by virtually everybody, and when a new celebrity hair style causes a sensation, you can be sure that everyone will be trying to emulate it. So, while you may be thinking that you are going to look sensational with your new celebrity hair style, you may end up looking like a copy cat.

2. Celebrities do not have to choose easy styles because they have hair stylists and make-up artists solely dedicated to making them look beautiful. On the other hand, you probably do not. So, be careful not to choose a celebrity hair style that will have you pulling out your hair when you have to spend hours keeping it up.

3. Stylists to the stars choose particular celebrity hair styles for their clients because they are perfect for their face shape and type and texture of hair. Not everybody can pull off every style. Be careful not to choose a celebrity hair style that makes you look ridiculous.

While there are pros and cons to everything, choosing a celebrity hair style should be something that you give some thought to before making a final decision. Not everyone is worth millions, but you can look like you are if you choose your celebrity hair styles wisely.
