Until fairly recently, gaming laptops were traditionally custom made by select companies. Despite the fact they weren’t amazing sellers they did have great margins. Everybody wanted this kind of notebook computer, but it was too pricey. They were basically the best laptops that the technology could provide at that time. Despite the excitement caused I do not believe they were good sellers because I don’t believe buyers would buy laptops as an alternative to desktop computers as they were overpriced. The primary companies have lately started taking advantage of massive opportunities in gaming laptops, so that is all transforming.

Compared to the smaller system builders these companies know they can generate even more cash. These manufacturers have probably been losing a bit of money on cheap units so this should be a welcomed opportunity. Why would anybody buy laptops like this? I guess big manufacturers have the marketing resources to teach them that. I don’t know what this will do to littler retailers but it will have a detrimental effect on them. I’m fairly confident that the multinational manufacturers will attempt to squeeze the small ones out. I think buying from a familiar brand additionally gives the perception of added value for money.

The laptop computers being launched by branded companies are all contending for the best laptop computer status. This surely should give a bit of encouragement to the smaller system builders. The custom made service is a big benefit to the potential purchaser. These picky potential customers are generally very well educated with the technology and can check each of the specs individually. In comparing specifications and looks, these purchasers generally favour the former.

This is all excellent from the publics perspective.A tactic that the local companies could utilise is to lower markup into shift greater numbers of system. Who is to say what will occur. I’m really not sure anymore. The best laptops are more often then not going to be expensive to be honest. The large manufacturers have already entered the gaming laptops division so we will have to look and observe what happens I guess.

Laptop shipments are estimated to be approaching 130million units this year, which is a lot! The battery shortage problem is not going to aide things either. Whatever occurs in the market place this demand for laptops only seems to be heading up. The technology is developing in all directions at once as well.

More consumers are purchasing laptops for gaming as of late. Prices are also declining because the rate at which technology becomes old has become so small for laptops. I feel laptops are a sound alternative for playing games. Maybe not exactly for the extreme but they’re great for the majority of us. Past problems with massive, hot laptops for gaming are vanishing and new slimmer, slicker products are being released. Desktop Pc’s are greater in size and consume greater amounts energy so no matter how great gaming laptops have become desktops will always run better. Gaming laptops will without a doubt get streamlined and more quicker in the coming years and it will be interesting to witness.

Despite the fact that the market share is dominated by companies marketing via retail channels I feel the direct model and custom built laptops will forever be around. With custom built laptops you typically get to find what brand of parts is going into the notebook. I fancy the idea that you can sometimes even specify what parts you desire. Mass market laptops aren’t manufactured with particular consumers in mind and this could create an issue. Custom built laptops serve everyone despite their exact needs. Just like preconfigured laptops there are a number of of brand names selling custom laptops all with a different advantage or increase customer care. Advantages

If your computer ever breaks down you may be able to pinpoint and fix the problem yourself, saving on those expensive service bills.

Disadvantages

The major disadvantage in building your own PC is that you don’t get a system wide warranty. For example, if a malfunctioning motherboard fries your memory chips, you may be unable to get compensated for the damaged memory. If something like this happens with a store-bought system you could probably get the computer repaired under the warranty.

However, if you buy all the components at the same time and from the same retailer, they may be more likely to compensate you for this kind of situation.

Getting the Best

You are pretty well guaranteed to get the best computer when you build your own system. Big retailers often use cheaper OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) components to cut down on costs. Components like these can compromise the performance of a computer system. Although you can buy OEM components retail, the trade-off in reliability and stability is usually not worth it. Brand name components are usually just a bit more expensive and well worth the cost for the extra performance they offer.

The Bottom Line

Building your own PC has a lot to offer. You’ll be assured of getting the best components available which translates as the best and most reliable computer for the money. You will learn a lot about computer components and how to choose parts that offer the best performance. When it comes to servicing your computer you may be able to pinpoint the problem yourself and replace the problem parts.

Science has reached an enormous impasse. From biology to
physics, astronomy to genetics, the scientific community is
reaching the limits of understanding which often presage a
complete rethinking of long-accepted theories. So characteristic
of this new apex of modern arrogance is the inability to
comprehend the obvious in physics: That we don’t know what we
are talking about.

Last December (’05), physicists held the 23rd Solvay Conference
in Brussels, Belgium. Amongst the many topics covered in the
conference was the subject matter of string theory. This theory
combines the apparently irreconcilable domains of quantum
physics and relativity. David Gross a Nobel Laureate made some
startling statements about the state of physics including: “We
don’t know what we are talking about” whilst referring to string
theory as well as “The state of physics today is like it was
when we were mystified by radioactivity.”

The Nobel Laureate is a heavyweight in this field having earned
a prize for work on the strong nuclear force and he indicated
that what is happening today is very similar to what happened at
the 1911 Solvay meeting. Back then, radioactivity had recently
been discovered and mass energy conservation was under assault
because of its discovery. Quantum theory would be needed to
solve these problems. Gross further commented that in 1911 “They
were missing something absolutely fundamental,” as well as “we
are missing perhaps something as profound as they were back
then.”

Coming from a scientist with establishment credentials this is a
damning statement about the state of current theoretical models
and most notably string theory. This theoretical model is a
means by which physicists replace the more commonly known
particles of particle physics with one dimensional objects which
are known as strings. These bizarre objects were first detected
in 1968 through the insight and work of Gabriele Veneziano who
was trying to comprehend the strong nuclear force.

Whilst meditating on the strong nuclear force Veneziano detected
a similarity between the Euler Beta Function, named for the
famed mathematician Leonhard Euler, and the strong force.
Applying the aforementioned Beta Function to the strong force he
was able to validate a direct correlation between the two.
Interestingly enough, no one knew why Euler’s Beta worked so
well in mapping the strong nuclear force data. A proposed
solution to this dilemma would follow a few years later.

Almost two years later (1970), the scientists Nambu, Nielsen and
Susskind provided a mathematical description which described the
physical phenomena of why Euler’s Beta served as a graphical
outline for the strong nuclear force. By modeling the strong
nuclear forces as one dimensional strings they were able to show
why it all seemed to work so well. However, several troubling
inconsistencies were immediately seen on the horizon. The new
theory had attached to it many implications that were in direct
violation of empirical analyses. In other words, routine
experimentation did not back up the new theory.

Needless to say, physicists romantic fascination with string
theory ended almost as fast as it had begun only to be
resuscitated a few years later by another ‘discovery.’ The
worker of the miraculous salvation of the sweet dreams of modern
physicists was known as the graviton. This elementary particle
allegedly communicates gravitational forces throughout the
universe.

The graviton is of course a ‘hypothetical’ particle that appears
in what are known as quantum gravity systems. Unfortunately, the
graviton has never ever been detected; it is as previously
indicated a ‘mythical’ particle that fills the mind of the
theorist with dreams of golden Nobel Prizes and perhaps his or
her name on the periodic table of elements.

But back to the historical record. In 1974, the scientists
Schwarz, Scherk and Yoneya reexamined strings so that the
textures or patterns of strings and their associated vibrational
properties were connected to the aforementioned ‘graviton.’ As a
result of these investigations was born what is now called
‘bosonic string theory’ which is the ‘in vogue’ version of this
theory. Having both open and closed strings as well as many new
important problems which gave rise to unforeseen instabilities.

These problematical instabilities leading to many new
difficulties which render the previous thinking as confused as
we were when we started this discussion. Of course this all
started from undetectable gravitons which arise from other
theories equally untenable and inexplicable and so on. Thus was
born string theory which was hoped would provide a complete
picture of the basic fundamental principles of the universe.

Scientists had believed that once the shortcomings of particle
physics had been left behind by the adoption of the exotic
string theory, that a grand unified theory of everything would
be an easily ascertainable goal. However, what they could not
anticipate is that the theory that they hoped would produce a
theory of everything would leave them more confused and
frustrated than they were before they departed from particle
physics.

The end result of string theory is that we know less and less
and are becoming more and more confused. Of course, the argument
could be made that further investigations will yield more
relevant data whereby we will tweak the model to an eventual
perfecting of our understanding of it. Or perhaps ‘We don’t know
what we are talking about.’

Thoughts create experience. If you’ve read anything about how to use the Powers of the Mind, you’ve come across this idea. You’ve probably read that if you want your life to change, you have to think positive thoughts and hold your focus on what you want. This is the basic concept behind all New Thought philosophy, and one of the central themes of the Keys To Power as well.

When I first learned about this principle, it sounded really good to me. After all, I had been looking for the secrets behind the miracles of the (Christian) Bible. It also made a lot of sense. It was my understanding that God created mankind with the ability to dominate the Earth (physical reality), and if this was the case, then where else would this Power be than in the mind? After all, we have all heard the quotes about faith. “If you had the faith as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea, and it will be done as you believe.” There are a lot of quotes like that.

But it seemed as though no matter how much I thought about what I wanted, no matter how much I ‘believed’ that I would get it, or how intensely I focused my mind, it wouldn’t work for me. Has that happened with your efforts? I know a lot of people who have had the exact same experience. They either get nothing for their efforts, or they get the exact opposite of what they were working for.

Now that I’ve learned the secret Keys to Power, I can tell you why this happens. Imagine that Power flows like water. This is the Power that God gives you to create your world the way you want it. Now imagine that Power flowing into you, through your mind, and then out into your world. As Power is flowing through your mind, it is picking up your thoughts and feelings, your beliefs and your expectations, and a few other things. This is why your thoughts create your experiences. Because Power is picking up your thoughts and feelings as it flows from God into your world.

The reason we don’t see this is because it doesn’t happen instantly. What happens is that all the thoughts and feelings that we send out into the world have to wait until an opportunity to manifest comes up. So, at any particular point in time, you may have a few thousand thought-forms (the traditional term for thoughts which have been combined with Power) out there waiting to manifest! And those thought-forms could manifest at any time, depending on the situation you find yourself in.

Let’s think about this for a moment. How many thoughts have you had in the last week? How many of them were positive, happy, and full of hope for the future? How many of them were negative, frustrated, angry, upset, or fearful? If you’re like most people, you had a mix of positive and negative thoughts and feelings. And since thoughts direct Power to create our experiences, they will create a mix of positive and negative events in your life, won’t they?

Okay, so let’s consider something else. You have a mix of different thought-forms out there waiting to manifest. You spend a few hours today thinking only positive thoughts and creating new positive thought-forms. Which thought-forms are going to manifest tomorrow? It could be any that are still out there, positive ones or negative ones, right? Of course! And this is why it’s possible to think positive thoughts for a long time and still have negative things happen! Because the negative events are simply the manifestation of thought-forms you sent out into the world previously.

So how can we use this information? Since we know that all thoughts we send out into the world will eventually create experiences, and the timing of the manifestation of those thoughts is beyond our control, then all we can do is send out the kinds of thoughts we want to experience and accept whatever happens in the meantime. If we persist long enough, thinking and feeling only positive things (things we want to experience), then eventually there will be no more negative thoughts left to manifest. At that point, we will be living a life where nothing could ever go wrong!

But what do we do before that time? If something goes wrong, or we experience the manifestation of one of our negative thought-forms, then we can realize that we are one step closer to our goal. There is one less negative thought-form out there to experience. Look at it this way, if God told you that you would have to kiss a hundred ugly toads, but the last one would make all your dreams come true, would you start kissing toads? And how would you feel as you were doing it? You would probably be thinking about all the glorious things that last toad will do for you!

Keep thinking positive, and get through the toads as quickly as possible!

First, find your HOSTS file.

Open Notepad. Go to File, and Choose Open.

If you have Windows 95, 98, or ME browse to the folder “C:\windows”

If you have Windows XP Home browse to the folder “C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc”

If you have anything else (Windows XP Pro, Windows 2000, NT, 2003, etc.) browse to the folder: “C:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc”

Once you’re there, open the file called “hosts”. If you don’t see anything listed just type the word hosts and the file should open up. Just the word “hosts”, no extension or anything after that. It’s probably blank but it might not be.

Add this line:

127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com

And save. You’re done.

Now go back to a site that you know has some Google Ads. There should be an empty space where the ads appeared.

Want to turn it off? Don’t just delete it, put a “#” sign in front of that line, like this:

What’s that do? It basically says “ignore this line.” I like to leave it like that so when I want to hide Google Ads again, all I have to do is remove the “#” sign and save - then put the “#” back in when I’m ready to go back to normal.

It is always a pain in the neck when you run out of ink while printing a very important document - on a deadline. When everything fails, make sure you keep your cool and you know what to do next. Don’t worry! You’ll have that paper in your boss’ or professor’s desk in time - even if you run out of ink.

Undoubtedly, computer parts and accessories cost a lot. And you usually don’t realize when these parts would reach the end of their lifespan, so be sure you are prepared. Running out of ink is not a funny situation, not when you have a deadline for a paper. And buying a refill in the middle of the night is not exactly a fun thing to do. Now, you’d probably ask, “How do I keep my cool?” Here’s how: Know about ink refilling and do it yourself!

Ink refilling is popular nowadays, that it has even given birth to lots of ink-refilling stations. But that would mean another expense to you too, although it might be cheaper compared to buying a new ink cartridge. You can actually do the refilling yourself provided you have the materials and the knowledge how to do it.

Anybody who can read a manual would surely be able to get on with the task. Below is the list of what you should have and what you should do when refilling your own ink cartridge. Remember, keep your cool and don’t panic!

A place with a close access to running water is the best place to do the refilling. This is so as not to smear ink on furniture, other things most especially important documents.
The amount of ink to be refilled varies on the size of the cartridge. The cartridge states how many milliliters (ml.) of ink it can hold.

In your ink-refilling kit, a syringe is provided to draw the ink (of any color) to refill the empty (or near empty) cartridge. Along with it are bottles of ink of different colors, a bottle of cleaning solution especially designed for the sensitive parts of the cartridge and a user’s manual. Refer to the manual on how to properly inject the ink to the cartridge.

To transfer the ink from the syringe into the cartridge, there must be a very tiny hole (the size of the tip of a ball point pen) poked on top of the cartridge, near the label. Insert the needle of the syringe and slowly, very slowly inject the ink into the cartridge. It is necessary to do this process very slowly so that the ink would not form foam and the bubbles would prevent it from printing.

The newly created holes need not be sealed after refilling, as it would look like the other “breather” holes on top of the cartridge.

Left over ink inside the syringe can be returned to its original bottle. The syringe must be properly washed before using for another color. It is also preferable to use different syringes for different colors.

To make sure ink is not dripping out of the sponge, turn the cartridge upside down. Replace the cartridge back in the printer cradle, totally cleaned up. Run test print to see changes and to clear and clean any printing problems.

Few important things to remember:
It would be best to refill a near-empty cartridge than a totally empty one as dried up ink might cause clogging.
It would be best to let refilled ink cartridge stand overnight to let the newly injected ink even out.

It would be best to poke a tiny hole on top of the cartridge with UTMOST care so as not to cause a crack which will completely make it useless. Even a very thin crack might cause the newly refilled ink to dry up no sooner that when you put it in.

It would be best to inspect the cartridges to be refilled because there are some ink cartridges that say “Single Use Only”, and refilling it might cause damage to the printer especially when the ink injected is not the same with the previous content of the cartridge. Worse, when found out, the one who refilled it (you or some commercial refilling station) could face charges.

It would be best to check the cartridge (especially the newer models) for the green chip that keeps track of the levels of the ink. Its memory can be reset so as to be able to check the level of the cartridge with the newly-injected ink or when it is necessary to refill “again” before it has completely run out of ink.
